Cranbrook Art Museum

When the Cranbrook Art Museum renovated its Bloomfield Hills, Michigan space to accommodate new offices at the museum as well as the new Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research, the museum worked with architect SmithGroupJJR and Knoll dealer American Interiors to create multi-functional furniture solutions.

The Cranbrook Art Museum selected Antenna® Workspaces for both its design aesthetic and connection to Masamichi Udagawa, an alumnus of the Cranbrook Academy of Art who designed the furniture with Sigi Moeslinger. The Cranbrook Archives Reading Room, which serves scholars who are conduciting research on former students and faculty, features an Antenna® Workspaces desk with modesty panel. MultiGeneration by Knoll® side chairs, situated around an Antenna® Workspaces Big Table, support technology needs and provide ample space to study large architectural drawings. Private offices also feature Antenna® Workspaces as well as Saarinen Tables and Bertoia Side Chairs. The offices provide ample space for exhibition research and planning. In the open plan office, the Antenna® Workspaces Big Table encourages collaboration, while upmounted storage and glass partitions preserve personal space. Generation by Knoll® provides task seating throughout the museum offices.
